Simple Checklist by Lew Labs Apps

Last updated: September 11, 2026

This policy describes the current Simple Checklist app and the advertising features intended for the public release. If we materially change how data is handled, we will update this page.

1. Overview

Lew Labs Apps (“Lew Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Simple Checklist, an Android checklist application designed to work primarily with data stored locally on your device.

2. Checklist content

Checklist names, checklist items, completion status, ordering, and widget selections are stored locally in the app’s device storage. The current release does not require a Lew Labs account and does not upload checklist content to Lew Labs servers.

3. Microphone and voice input

If you choose to use voice input, Simple Checklist requests microphone permission so your device can capture speech. Speech recognition is provided through Android/device speech-recognition services. Depending on your device, language, settings, and speech provider, audio or transcribed speech may be processed by the operating system or a third-party speech service. Lew Labs does not operate the speech-recognition service and does not receive your raw microphone audio through Simple Checklist.

4. Sharing text into the app

When you use Android’s Share feature to send text to Simple Checklist, the shared text is processed by the app on your device so it can be turned into checklist items. Lew Labs does not receive that shared text through a Lew Labs server in the current release.

5. Home-screen widgets

Widgets display selected checklist information from local app storage. Widget configuration and completion changes are handled on the device.

6. Advertising

Simple Checklist may display ads provided by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, advertising interactions, diagnostics, and consent choices to provide, measure, limit, or personalize advertising where permitted. Ad behavior can vary by region and consent status.

Where required, the app will use Google’s consent tools before requesting advertising. For more information about Google’s advertising and privacy practices, visit Google’s privacy and advertising resources.

7. App diagnostics and platform services

Android, Google Play, Google Mobile Ads, and device services may independently collect diagnostics, security information, crash information, or usage information according to their own terms and privacy policies. Lew Labs does not intentionally collect checklist contents as analytics data.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because checklist content is stored locally, you can delete individual lists inside Simple Checklist. You can also remove app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app, subject to any Android backup and restore settings enabled on your device.

9. Children

Simple Checklist is a general-purpose utility and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to create a Lew Labs account or submit personal checklist content to Lew Labs servers in the current release.

10. Security

We design Simple Checklist to minimize the amount of user content transmitted off-device. No method of storage or transmission is guaranteed to be completely secure, and device security remains important for locally stored information.

11. Future optional services

Lew Labs may later offer optional features such as account-based synchronization or integrations with external services. If those features are introduced, we will provide appropriate notices and update this privacy policy before or when those features become available.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, applicable services, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
